Hospitalité de Miami

The Archdiocese of Miami Goes to Lourdes

  • Dear friends,

    Since it opened on 9 June, the HNDL has resumed all its activities:

    Welcoming pilgrims for all the celebrations at the Grotto and inside the Rosary Basilica;

    Assisting with prayer at the Grotto;

    Welcoming pilgrims at the water taps;

    Formation for stagiaires;

    Preparation for and engagement this week of three stagiaires from the St. Frai Service (a very lovely celebration in the Accueil St. Frai chapel). Please see the attached photo.

    In addition, since Thursday we have with us a delegation from the diocese of Lille accompanying their Archbishop, Mgr. Ulrich. They are few in number but everything is being filmed and broadcast live to all the pilgrims and hospitaliers back home in the North of France.

    In short, the Sanctuary is coming back to life. Every day it welcomes about 2000 pilgrims (4000 a day on Saturdays and Sundays).

    Please pass this information on, in order to convince some of our Hospitaliers who are hesitating, thinking wrongly that there is no use in coming to Lourdes at the present time.

    Finally, I attach the list of hospitaliers and their loved ones who have passed away and whose names were remembered at the Mass celebrated at the Grotto last Thursday by our Chaplain General, Père Horatio Brito.

    With all my friendship,

    Daniel Pezet

Each year 6 million people make the pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Lourdes. They come seeking healing for themselves and they come to offer aid to others in need of healing. For many, this pilgrimage would be impossible without that assistance.

In Europe this pilgrimage is made possible through dedicated Hospitalités which organize and serve in annual pilgrimages for each of the dioceses of Europe. While serving at the Sanctuary of Lourdes we have been blessed to experience the great joy and power of these pilgrimages. Some, like the Archdiocese Madrid, come thousands strong.

We would like to invite all the Archdiocese of Miami to come together for our own Archdiocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes. The Hospitalité de Miami has joined the Hospitalité Notre Dame de Lourdes and is dedicated to helping the sick and suffering of Miami go each year to the Sanctuary of Lourdes for healing and to gathering us together for an annual pilgrimage as one Archdiocesan family.

You can join us in traveling roundtrip from Miami or meet up with the pilgrimage in Lourdes. We will have hotel accommodations available and will help those with special needs and those doing Hospitalité service find specialized accommodations if they would prefer. We have a beautiful pilgrimage planned for our time together in Lourdes. We will walk in the footsteps of St. Bernadette, visit the Grotto of Lourdes, wash in the healing waters, and make the Eucharistic and Candlelight Rosary processions.

Please review the details and reserve as soon as possible. Off to Lourdes!

Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us. St. Bernadette, pray for us.

Msgr. Schwanger

      • Provision of logistical solution
    • Help convey the Lourdes message and signs
